Constipation is simply identified when your dog experiences irregular patterns of releasing its stool. Due to this irregular pattern, stool builds up in your dog's colon causing discomfort and pain. Canine constipation can be caused by various different factors; however the most common cause is due to an obstruction in the colon. Another factor is excessive licking, if your dog does this it can cause the creation of fur balls which block the colon.
